History
On the 2nd May 1966 the Livingston Ecumenical Project worshipped together for the first time. Over the years, the structure of the church has adapted to changing circumstances. This led to the church being spread over the town meeting in 6 different places every Sunday. A complete review of church resources, together with a vision for the future, has led the church to concentrate all its Sunday morning activities under one roof, at Nether Dechmont, Carmondean. The church is also re-branding itself as `Livingston United Parish Church`. This is an exciting time in the life of this ground breaking church.

The move to Nether Dechmont is an interim one and, over the next months, the congregation will decide on their longer term vision. It was important to gather all our people together on Sunday mornings and, together, we can decide where our longer term future lies. The dream has always been to have a custom built church in a central location. We have a better chance of realising that, if we all work together from this point on.

All our other activities throughout the town are continuing as normal. The big plus point for us is that we can now offer a new, early service, at 9.30 am which is interactive and family friendly. It only lasts for about thirty minutes. Our traditional service is at 11 am, but we are also running discussion groups and children’s activities in between the services so that Sunday morning provides fresh opportunity for worship and learning. If people prefer, they can just sit and chat over a cup of coffee instead.

The Parish is made up of members of the Church of Scotland, the Scottish Episcopal Church, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church worshipping together, sharing the good news, serving Christ in the community.
