Foundation module – Creating Safer Space is intended for those within the Scotland & Shetland region of the Methodist Church, who:
- are starting a new role within the Methodist Church that requires the post holder to attend this course
- have previously completed Foundation training and are required to refresh after 4 years.
NB If you are required to complete the Advanced Module you need only refresh at Advanced level after initially completing the Foundation course.
The course is delivered in two sessions and includes a refreshment break.
Copies of the Handbook and Workbook, which includes case studies that will be used during the sessions, can be accessed electronically on the Connexional website here Foundation Module online materials

Who should come to this Learning Network event?
Anyone within the Scotland and Shetland Region, who either:
- has an interest in worship
- is already a worship leader or local preacher, who would like to use the space for sharing with others and refreshing selves
- would like to explore a call to worship leading or preaching
- has have begun training as a worship leader or local preacher
How much does this event cost?
This event is free to anyone – just register and you’ll receive joining instructions and further information.
About the Connexional Learning Network

Overview for Tutors, Mentors and Local Preacher Secretaries
This familiarisation course about the principles and structure of WLP 3.0 is aimed at those new to any of the above roles, or considering offering for one of these roles, or those with previous experience in role with a previous version of the course.
The session will outline general principles behind the W:L&P course, and the changes that have been made in version 3.0. It will also explain the different roles, and the way they interact during the training of students. There will be opportunity for those in particular roles to spend some focused time together with guidance and tips on how to get the most from the course as you support the students in your care. There will be a short time for Q&A at the end of the time together.
