Methodist Pilgrimages in Scotland

Cancellation of Walking Pilgrimage in August: Andrew and I had hoped to lead a walking pilgrimage from Glasgow to the Isle of Whithorn in August but sadly we have not been able to put together a viable group so this has now been cancelled.

Glasgow Two-Day Pilgrimage: However, a much shorter two-day pilgrimage is being planned for Monday 24th& Tuesday 25thAugust with an overnight stay in Glasgow.  This will be open to all who are fit enough to walk around 10 miles on each of two days, carrying an overnight rucksack.

Glasgow is a city of huge historical and spiritual interest and the route will include two of the three Cathedrals, stretches alongside the river Clyde, and other local sites of interest.    If you would be interested in hearing more as the details are planned, please do email Jill: ejillbaker@btinternet.com

Data Protection

The publication of the New Year Honours list (with personal contact details included) highlighted the importance of complying with current Data Protection legislation. Not only has this caused security problems for some but there will almost certainly be a hefty fine imposed for the breach.

The Methodist Church has guidelines on procedures which should be followed by all who store information on behalf of the Church, no matter whether in paper form or electronically and these apply to even the smallest of churches. For more information about what you should be doing, please see https://www.tmcp.org.uk/about/data-protection#slides

God in Love Unites Us

The Marriage and Relationships Task Group produced this report which was discussed and amended at the Methodist Conference in July 2019.

All members of the Connexion are invited to read and discuss it prayerfully, in preparation for further discussions at Synods and next year’s Conference.

Listen with friendship, care and grace introduces the discussion, and invites us to watch the film before exploring the resources.
