Interfaith Week Iona
The Iona Community, an ecumenical Christian organisation, is hosting an Interfaith Week at Iona Abbey on the beautiful island of Iona. The week is open to people of all faiths and none. The week will be facilitated by Dr Maureen Sier and Frances Hume from Interfaith Scotland; Zarina Ahmad, a climate activist based in Manchester, and Caro Penney, Abbey Warden and Moderator of the Iona Community’s Interfaith Relations Common Concern Network.
The focus of the week will be on environmental protection. Protecting the environment is a key message in the scriptures of all faith traditions. In this interfaith week we will explore what different faiths have to say about respect for all life, and the careful and responsible protection and preservation of the earth’s resources. We will look at the actions different faith communities are taking in response to the climate crisis and – weather-permitting – we will engage in some nature-based activities during the course of the week.
The cost for 6 nights is £762 per adult, £381 for reduced rate. The reduced rate applies to students in full-time education, people whose only income is from state benefits or a state pension, people paid beneath the real living wage of £12.00 an hour, and those who are homeless, refugees, or asylum seekers.
You can find out more about the week at the link below where you will also find the link to BOOK onto the week.
